Coffee, Cake and Kink
CCK is an established London business, a shop and cafe-gallery with a strong connection to their community. They already had a brochure site, but wanted to add an e-commerce section.
As they were about to begin a process of rebranding, it was likely that they would want to change the look of the site in the near future, so they didn't want anything too high design at this stage. Instead they wanted something clean and professional, reflecting their style in a simple way. I therefore created a design based on simple text, borders and background colours - the layout uses no images except for a small basket icon, and a background image in a simple header bar. The guys at CCK can change these header images through the Evolution e-commerce software, assigning a different image for each product category. A large part of CCK is their cafe-gallery, where they display work by artists from their community, so my front page design featured a detail from one of their paintings, and again they can change that front page image through Evolution. The colour scheme, of course, reflects their existing branding of red and black.
My involvement
This project was undertaken during my time at a web development agency. I designed the site, built the wireframes, and connected them to the ecommerce solution.
